About our Club

Petaluma Valley is a member of California District 35 which represents Sonoma, Lake and Mendocino counties in the North Bay Area. It is a baseball-only chartered Little League open to children age 4 to 16.

Petaluma Valley Little League was established in 1971 to provide a baseball program for the children of the southeastern part of Petaluma. It is bordered on the north by East Washington Street and Sonoma Mountain Road; on the west by U.S. 101 and the Petaluma River; on the south by Highway 37; and on the east by the crest of the Sonoma Mountains (crossing Highway 116 at County Dump Road).

Our home field is Murphy Field, located in McDowell Park at the corner of Maria Drive and Park Lane. The field is named for Richard F. Murphy and was dedicated on July 29, 1995. There is a plaque in front of Murphy Field noting Rich’s place in Valley history.

The 1995 season was special to Petaluma Valley, as our 12u All-Stars team made a run at the Little League World Series! The team’s remarkable summer ended just two victories shy of Williamsport. A runner-up finish at the Western Region Tournament in San Bernardino, CA and a Northern California State Championship mark the farthest any PVLL team has advanced in tournament play.
