City Council Meeting Tonight Regarding Safeway Gas Station Appeal

*** The agenda item for the gas station has been pushed off until the October 15th meeting due to a large amount of new information that the council received since last Thursday. ***

Hello PVLL Family,

Tonight, the Petaluma City Council will discuss and decide an appeal of the Planning Commission's earlier decision approving the proposed Safeway gas station at the corner of Maria and McDowell.

If built, the gas station will increase auto emissions in the area, affect the parking near our two fields and increase the traffic on Maria Drive and Park Lane. Safeway expects more than 500 vehicles per day, with the main entry/exit to be on Maria Drive near the ball fields, which will back up at the Maria Drive/Park Lane intersection near the Murphy Field snack shack.

If you would like to add your input, we encourage you to attend tonight's City Council meeting. For more information about the meeting and the effects of the proposed gas station on Petaluma Valley Little League, please visit NoGasHere.org or NoGasAqui.org.

Thanks,
PVLL Board
