Valley Home Run Derby

Times are approximate and subject to adjustment based on numbers of registrations in each division.


This year we are holding a Petaluma Valley Home Run Derby competition and fundraiser. Through the T-Mobile Little League Home Run Derby program, it has the potential to send a Valley baseballer on to compete against other leagues and even at the home of Little League, Williamsport, PA.


For our Home Run Derby this year, we're using a web based fundraising system that makes it much easier for you to request pledges from your family and friends, and for them to make secure credit card donations online. It's fun, it's easy, and people who use it typically raise twice as much as those who don't!

Our goal is to earn money through pledges that will go toward putting in lights at Murphy Field. Lights give matchups a special big-game feeling. They also open up more opportunities for hosting District and Section tournaments, which allows us to show off our facilities. 

The event is open for ALL Valley divisions, from T-Ball thru the Teenagers. Each division will have age-appropriate Home Run distances to give a challenging but fun experience.

There are awards within divisions and overall: 

  • Each division will have a Home Run Derby Champion, and 2nd and 3rd place prizes. 
  • The player that raises the most money in each division earns a free bat. 
  • The team that raises the most money in the league gets a pizza party!
  • Each player who raises at least $10 will get a free Valley Home Run Derby shirt.

Our Valley Home Run Derby is April 24 (same day as Picture Day), so register now to help our league raise as much as we can toward Murphy Field lights. All donations go to a 501(c)3 and are 100% tax deductible. (Petaluma Valley Little League Tax ID # 23-7376964)

Signing Up Using your computer's browser:

  1. Go to http://pledgestar.com/PetalumaValleyLL
  2. Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event”
  3. Enter your name and email address, then click “Submit”
  4. Follow the instructions on-screen to register Participant(s) and add family and friends

Signing Up Using your Android or Apple phone or tablet:

  1. Go to your device’s App Store and search for "PledgeStar" to download the Family App, or go to https://pledgestar.com/PetalumaValleyLL/downloadapp.html
  2. On the home screen enter your event code: “PetalumaValleyLL” to locate your event
  3. Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event”
  4. Enter your name and email address, then click “Submit”
  5. Follow the instructions on-screen to register Participant(s) and add family and friends

When you finish registering, the system can email pledge requests to your family and friends, and allows them to make secure credit card donations online. You get notified each time a pledge is made, and you can track your pledge progress online.
