Petaluma Valley cannot exist without volunteers.

This starts in September, with the election of the Board of Directors, who work together to organize each and every part of the league. The Board handles player sign-ups, selects coaches, finds sponsors, schedules umpires and snack shack workers, oversees field maintenance and upgrades, and makes sure that our major events like Cap Night, Opening Day, Home Run Derby, and Family Fun Day are fun for all involved.

We also need managers and coaches to lead the teams. Interviews are in January, to be ready for player evaluations and player distribution at the end of the month.

Near the start of the season, we hold Field Days, where we prep the fields and facilities for games. It takes effort from the entire league to make sure it is ready to go. We also have Cap Night where the league gets together to hand out the team caps and meet as a community. We typically need volunteers shifts to cover doors, food, set-up and clean-up.

Our goal is to have the Snack Shack open for every game on Murphy Field. In a sense, it is a season-long fundraising event, and helps make watching a baseball game feel like a big event. Volunteers can take shifts here to make sure that it is open.

Be on the lookout for emails throughout the season with the above opportunities and more. When Cap Night, Snack Shack or other sign-up sheets become available, you will find them below.
